Total Body * Total Mind - Integrating the Whole of You

Allergies Giving You The Sniffles?

With all the beautifully blossoming trees and gardens being planted comes pollen—and allergies! Watery eyes, runny nose, headaches, & sinus congestion are just a few symptoms of spring– and summer-time allergies.

Ever wish there was a way to alleviate the symptoms without taking a pill? There is: Acupuncture!

It helps your body regain functional balance. An "out of balance" body signals an alarm to let you know that adjustments need to be made: to your diet, lifestyle, spiritual practice, etc. Listening to your body and responding positively to it will get you back on track—from the inside out.

For allergies: treatments twice a week for four weeks can make a significant improvement in your quality of life. After the first treatment you should feel (at minimum) a reduction in your congestion. Continued treatments can lead to a clearing of symptoms, a lightness in your body, and a sense of relaxation.

Acupuncture can "jump start" your body's own natural healing process. Are you ready for a jump start? Call Prescriptive Health today and say good-bye to the sniffles and hello to clarity!

Getting Grounded

Yoga offers a way to reconnect to a still place inside after the busy-ness of the day – practiced early in the morning, yoga solidly begins our day. Get grounded by bringing yourself back to Earth. Invite the Earth element into a quiet seat for 5-10 minutes each day.

Your seated posture should feel comfortable – sitting on a blanket or two can lift the pelvis and release the knees downward. You can also lie down or sit in a chair.

Just as we dig a hole in the rich loam of our garden and plant our summer flowers deep within that fertile soil, we too can plant or ground ourselves into our True Nature and feel nourished. In your seat, feel the richness and heaviness of your legs and hips. Breathe deeply for several breaths, feel the expansion of your Inner Body, and release into this support. Allow the Earth to hold you as you root down, feeling the steadfast commitment of your seat, the sensations of your body.

Can you feel a heavy, anchored feeling? Can you feel a rooting? A feeling that lets you know you are safe…

Feeling grounded and earthy – or a deep stillness – is feeling the rooted sense of your seat, the tailbone extending downward, the belly rising up. Your head is like the budding bloom and the spine is the stalk that holds up the flower. This stalk stays connected to the Earth so you can feel connected to what is above it. When we are grounded, in essence we become a strong vessel in which our spirit can contentedly reside. Can you stay here without feeling uprooted?
